Authorisation Temporary Residence (Machtiging Voorlopig Verblijf or MVV)
If you have the nationality of one of the countries of the European Union, Australia, Canada, Iceland, Japan, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland (including Liechtenstein) and the USA, you do not need a visa or so-called Authorisation for Temporary Residence (in Dutch: MVV) to enter the Netherlands. You may apply for a Residence Permit (Vergunning tot Verblijf or VTV) after your arrival.
If you do not have the nationality of one of the above-mentioned countries, you need an Authorisation of Temporary Residence (MVV) to enter the Netherlands. After you have been selected and admitted to the International Programme in Business Administration, we will start the accelerated visa procedure for you. The accelerated procedure will take approximately four to six weeks.
With the Authorisation of Temporary Residence (MVV), you apply for a Residence Permit (VTV) at the Alien Registration Office in the Netherlands after your arrival.
Residence Permit (VTV)
Staying in the Netherlands for more than three months means you must apply for a temporary Residence Permit (Vergunning tot Verblijf or VTV) at the Alien Registration Office. The Costs for the VTV are € 430 (for EU and EEA residents € 26). Within three days after your arrival in the Netherlands, you need to register at the Dutch Alien Police. If you come from a country that requires an MVV before coming to the Netherlands (see the information above), a residence permit will only be issued with an MVV.
